Executive Summary
JS Bank Limited was incorporated in 2007. It is a majority-owned subsidiary of Jahangir Siddiqui & Co. Ltd. and operates in the commercial banking sector.
This summer I was given the wonderful opportunity of working at JS Bank Limited as an Intern in two of the five business units of JSBL; Retail and Corporate Banking. The main purpose of the internship was to learn by working in a practical environment and to apply the knowledge acquired during studies in a real-world scenario.
Stepping up from the university level into a corporate world was a new step for me, but with the continuous guidance and motivation from the employees there, I was able to learn and challenge myself to go beyond my comfort zone. During my time there I was able to learn the ins and outs of working as a Relationship Manager, the daily tasks given to them, and the challenges they are forced to face.
In this report, I gave a brief snapshot of my time as an internee along with a detailed description of the tasks assigned to me. Having worked at the Branch as well as at the corporate level, I was able to explore and understand the way clients (Including big corporate clients like Pakistan Oilfields and Mujahid Group) are entertained. Account Opening, Cash, Remittances, Clearing, Credit, and Trade were some of the Bank departments I was able to explore throughout my 6 weeks internship.

JS Bank Limited is a majority-owned subsidiary of Jahangir Siddiqui & Co. Ltd. and was incorporated in 2007. JS bank operates in the commercial banking sector. It was formed in 2006 with the merger of Jahangir Siddiqui Investment Bank and American Express Banks branches in Pakistan. Having its activities categorized into five business units, Retail banking, Wealth Management, Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, and Treasury, JS bank is one of Pakistan’s most diversified and progressive business entities with market-leading financial services and diversified strategic investments.
